Product Description
A hydraulic double-disc grab is a loading and unloading device operated by a hydraulic system, primarily used for handling bulk materials such as coal, ores, grains, and sand. Unlike traditional wire-rope grabs, this hydraulic model employs direct control of jaw plate opening through hydraulic cylinders, delivering enhanced gripping force and precise operational control. It is particularly suitable for heavy-duty or high-precision work environments.
1. Structure and Composition of Hydraulic Double-Disc Grab
The hydraulic double-disc grab mainly consists of the following parts:
Jaw plate (claw): Usually made of high-strength, wear-resistant steel plate, divided into two pieces. The shape can be designed according to the characteristics of the material (e.g., flat, toothed, or arc-shaped).
Hydraulic cylinder: One or two hydraulic cylinders directly drive the jaw plates to open and close, providing strong clamping force.
Hydraulic control system: Includes a hydraulic pump station, hydraulic valves, and oil pipes, used to control the cylinder's movement.
Suspension device: Connects to a crane or other lifting equipment.
Sealing and protection device: Prevents dust and water vapor from entering the hydraulic system.
2. Working Principle of Hydraulic Double-Disc Grab
Clamping and spreading
The hydraulic system depressurizes, the cylinder retracts, and the jaw plates spread under their own weight or with external assistance.
Material grabbing
The grab descends onto the material pile. The hydraulic pump station supplies oil, the cylinder extends, pushes the jaw plates closed, and clamps the material.
Lifting
The cylinder pressure is maintained to ensure the grab remains closed while the crane moves the material to the target position.
Unloading
The hydraulic system releases pressure, the cylinder retracts, the jaw plates open, and the material is unloaded.
3. Main Features of Hydraulic Double-Disc Grab
Strong grip: The hydraulic cylinder directly applies force, providing greater closing force than wire-rope grabs, making it suitable for hard or large materials (e.g., ore, scrap steel).
Precise control: Hydraulic pressure can be adjusted to achieve fine operations such as semi-open or semi-closed states, ideal for fragile materials (e.g., grain, fertilizer).
Adaptability to harsh environments: The hydraulic system is well-sealed and can operate in humid or dusty conditions.
No closed rope: Compared to double-cable grabs, it reduces wire rope wear and lowers maintenance costs.
4. Application Scenarios of Hydraulic Double-Disc Grab
- Port terminals: Loading and unloading coal, iron ore, fertilizer, etc.
- Scrap steel recycling: Handling scrap metal, dismantled cars, etc.
- Grain storage: Precise handling of fragile bulk goods like soybeans and wheat.
- Mining operations: Processing large pieces of ore and gravel.
- Construction waste disposal: Handling concrete blocks and waste bricks.
