A Single Boom Portal Crane is a fully rotating monorail crane mounted on a gantry frame, traveling along ground tracks as a versatile dock handling solution. Equipped with lifting, rotating, boom adjustment, and moving mechanisms, it ensures efficient material handling. The first three mechanisms are installed on the rotating section, enabling full participation in operations during each cycle. As a common lifting equipment for ports, docks, and large construction sites, the Single Boom Portal Crane features structural stability, an extensive working range, and high operational efficiency.
1. Basic Structure
Gate Seat (Gate Frame):
The gate frame, composed of steel structures, is usually equipped with tracks or tires at the bottom to enable the movement of the entire machine. The space inside the gate seat allows vehicles or equipment to pass through.
Single Boom System:
Using a single main boom (non-truss or box structure), the working radius can be adjusted by changing the elevation angle through the amplitude mechanism. The end of the boom is equipped with a lifting pulley set.
Revolving Platform:
Installed above the gate seat, it supports the boom, lifting mechanism, boom mechanism, and cab, and can rotate 360°.
Hoisting Mechanism:
Consists of a motor, drum, wire rope, and hook to lift goods vertically.
Balanced System:
The moment of the boom is balanced by the counterweight and pull rod to ensure stability.

Track-Mounted:
Tracks are laid under the gate, allowing the crane to move along them to expand the operating range (e.g., port container handling).
Rubber-Tyred:
Equipped with a tire chassis, it offers strong mobility and is suitable for temporary construction sites or scattered operation points.
4. Core Mechanisms
Boom Luffing Mechanism:
The boom is driven by a rack or wire rope to adjust the working radius.
Slewing Gear:
The motor drives the rotary support to enable platform rotation.
Hoisting Mechanism:
Uses a multi-speed motor or frequency conversion control to ensure smooth and accurate lifting.
Safety Devices:
Includes limiters, overload protection, windproof anchoring, etc.
