The Rail Mounted Gantry Crane (RMG) is a large-scale container handling system primarily deployed in port terminals, railway freight yards, and logistics centers. Its core feature lies in its track-guided mobility, which enables efficient and precise container handling and stacking operations. Fundamental Structure of Rail Mounted Gantry Crane
1.Door Frame Structure
Composed of two rigid legs on either side and a main beam at the top, it forms a "gate" frame that typically spans multiple container lanes and stacking areas.
2.Walking System
At the base, motor-driven walking wheels run along pre-installed fixed tracks, which are usually parallel to the container yard.
3.Lifting Mechanism
An electric hoist or lifting device is installed beneath the main beam to vertically lift containers (with a standard stacking height of up to 5-8 layers).
4.Trolley Mechanism
The lifting tool moves horizontally along the main beam (via the trolley) to achieve precise container positioning within the span.

1.Track Fixation
Unlike a tire-mounted gantry crane (RTG), the RMG relies on ground tracks for movement, offering a limited range but more stable operation.

3.Large Span and Height
The span typically ranges from 30 to 50 meters, covering 6 to 10 container lanes, while the stacking height is limited by the leg height.
4.Strong Load Capacity
The rated load is generally 40-50 tons (including the weight of containers and lifting equipment), making it suitable for ISO standard containers.
